Description:
Oflaquin-M Syrup is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial combination designed to treat bacterial and protozoal infections in children and adults. It contains Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that targets bacterial infections, and Metronidazole Benzoate, an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. Together, they work synergistically to treat gastrointestinal infections, diarrhea, dysentery, and other bacterial or protozoal infections.

Composition:

• Ofloxacin 100mg (per 5ml)

• Metronidazole Benzoate 200mg (per 5ml)

Mechanism of Action:

• Ofloxacin: Inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, preventing DNA replication and transcription, ultimately leading to bacterial cell death.

• Metronidazole Benzoate: Disrupts DNA in protozoa and anaerobic bacteria, inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis and leading to cell death.

Indications:

• Gastrointestinal infections (such as bacterial diarrhea and dysentery)

• Amoebiasis (intestinal and hepatic)

• Giardiasis

• Mixed bacterial and protozoal infections

• Infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria
